Importance is not itched into my skin,
If I ran my hands over my scales Id find
Nothing but fleas and
Debris.
So I scratch and destroy any trace of
Respect that you have fought so hard to
Push into me.
All I can do is tangle myself further
And inevitably trip over my own foolishness.
Standing here, with my ear
Next to your lips and your words
Floating high above my self-esteem
Do you really say what you mean?
Not strong enough to touch, I peel
And reveal the inner workings of this
Mess of a machine
Robotics are incorrect, wiring is slightly
Off with you, stop staring at me
Go.
I feel nothing
Except the dull throb of a broken organ
That pumps out hypocrisy to the rest of a
Body.
(the hypocrisy is I dont want to live,
Yet theres wiring making sure I do?)
Theres nothing, just wires.
Standing here, with my ear
Next to your lips and your words
Floating high above my self-esteem
Do you really say what you mean?
Please stop telling me Im beautiful;
I know a beautiful person when I see
One.
They are not robots.
They have feelings, and warmth;
I have
Wires.

It is a little rough. Certain stanzas flow fairly well and then there's an abrupt stop before the next one begins. Nothing too bad though. It's not like you get lost between.
On another thought... scales are reptilian and reptiles don't get fleas... neither do robots. Even if it's an artificial skin, there would be no blood for them to feed on...

Touché my friend,
Yea, verily, forsooth it is so.
I am a fool with no tongue,
So wisdom only shall pass these lips.
..it's evident that you poured yourself into this poem. a lot of us are composed of wires and robotics - cut the wrong one, or screw with the wiring, then "BOOM!!", we never work right again.
I really liked the line "Off with you, stop staring at me
Go." myself. also like the repeated stanzas.

Thank you very much; though there were a few critisms I agree with.

Yeah quick submission...should be in scraps...
RE: the fleas; more scales over my own human skin, whatever's there can be eaten. Mostly not well explained.
Thank you, interesting points!
