Columbine

Blossom's fall in springtime's bloom
Beauty rests in winter's past
Let the tears of red be not in vain
Redemption's rose shalt ever last

Fallen tears shall be caught by Him
Sunshine breaks through darkened clouds
Smiling faces from them above
Raining tears upon the grave
Roses rise out of our love

When the smoke cleared, Columbine
Feathers from their wings are there
Do not feel the death despair
The red roses are left in God's own care
When the chaos went at Columbine
Menace, hate and tears beware
On the toll the death shall bear
Then they will smile and feel Him there
Columbine, Columbine
Bitter taste of love divine
Columbine, Columbine
Please anoint these tears of mine.

Rise and fall of love and doom
Left here to lie in April's room
Died ahead of their own time
Redemption starts in '99.

Sunshine breaks through weeping clouds
Thirteen crosses standing tall
The day they grew their wings and flew
Lifted by the love of all

When the smoke cleared, Columbine
Feathers from their wings are there
Do not feel the death despair
The red roses are left in God's own care
When the chaos went at Columbine
Menace, hate and tears beware
On the toll the death shall bear
Then they will smile and feel Him there
Columbine, Columbine
Bitter taste of love divine
Columbine, Columbine
Please anoint these tears of mine.

Let the love of God release
The pain of healing wounds
After stains of winter's chill
Spring will always bloom
After reddened rain there is
Always a shining sun
Wash away the deepened stain
Let His will be done.
Place your faith in Columbine
Place your faith in God divine
His own grace rid tears of mine
Forever on dear Columbine.

When the smoke cleared, Columbine
Feathers from their wings are there
Do not feel the death despair
The red roses are left in God's own care
When the chaos went at Columbine
Menace, hate and tears beware
On the toll the death shall bear
Then they will smile and feel Him there
Columbine, Columbine
Bitter taste of love divine
Columbine, Columbine
Please anoint these tears of mine.

I hate this song because it's a crap song, but Del really wanted me to post it. I felt it'd cause a lot of pain and anger for a lot of people if an Australian wrote a song about an American tradegy... but fair enough, if I felt for those teenagers I have the freedom to write, I suppose. It was Del's idea- so get her about it. I need help with style so critiques are useful- merci. It has God references in it. I am a Christian, and after reading "Rachel's Tears" thought it was neccessary. Excuse it if you are an aetheist... ugh, I can't spell.

I like it. I had a friend who went to school there and survived; however, her best friend died. Um.. I'm stupid and don't know about any Australian tragedies, but if I did, I'd write about them. :D I'm a Christian too. :highfive:

Thank you very much...we don't forget -ever- the suffering. For example the Bali incident that was a big deal here, caused a lot of pain and suffering for us, but we never forget.

What was her best friend's name, if you don't mind me asking? I know all the victims so I really like to know. Yeah it's gathered here that you don't really here about Aussie tradegies but we hear about yours, not that it's a problem. There were things like what happened in Bali, did you hear about that? Yeah, I'm a Christian. I'm not overly devout, I'm just me. Thanks for your comment :D

Dammit, I wrote a reply before and it didn't post, GRRRRRRRRR! What was the friend's name, if you don't mind me asking? I know all the victims and it's my curious nature getting the better of me, lol. Yes we do hear about a lot of American tradegies, not that that's a problem, but it's guessed here that no one hears about Aussie tradegies, like Bali, did you hear about that? Yeah I'm a Christian but not overly devout, I'm just...well, me lol. Thanks for your comment.
